Would it make sense to add a .gitignore in the seed? about scala-seed.g8 HOT 5 CLOSED

People use different tools, so I personally think it makes sense that everyone sets their own global .gitignore - https://help.github.com/en/articles/ignoring-files#create-a-global-gitignore

I agree with Eugene that editor and IDE stuff is better global/per-user, rather than having it in every repo

it would be good to have a .gitignore here with just target/ though (exactly like that: no initial slash, to apply anywhere in the directory hierarchy; yes trailing slash, to catch directories only)

@eed3si9n yes that is probably one ideal solution. But when you share your repositories with others, if only one does not have the global gitignore, everybody receives all unwanted files. If there is a versioned gitignore, this problem would not exist.
I guess it is also related to a workflow problem.
