The state is growing in #35. I think it would be helpful to manage this state in a more principled way instead than putting it into global objects. I really like Diode's Pot[T]. I think it would be helpful to use something like diode when the state become harder to manage, esp. when services like reference provider start reporting progress instead of eagerly loading everything.

You think this is still relevant @jonas ? I think it would be nice to keep the frontend dependencies low if possible, but you have more experience with the navigation state.

Let's close since no experiments for this has been done. Improvements to keep the URL and title in sync was recently done.
