I downloaded the epubs for a couple of other underscore.io books to check whether they have the same problem: Creative Scala and The Type Astronaut's Guide to Shapeless. They do all have the same problem. However, they all paginate at different, often variable rates.
Type Astronaut: 3, 3.7, 4.5, 5, 6, 8, 16, ... (variable)
Creative Scala: 3, 4.1, 5, 6, 9, 11.2, ... (variable)
Advanced Scala: 3, 4.2, 5.5, 6.7, 7.9, 9.2, 10.4, 11.6 (constant? 1.2)
Note that the page numbers I am getting for Advanced Scala are different this time; not sure why. I tried closing Calibre and reopening it, but I got these latest numbers again.
