PR(s)

  1. Write descriptive and consistent names
  2. Create a clear PR title and description
  3. Keep PRs short (same applies to files and functions

Issue(s)

  1. Always see for good-first-issue in the repos
  2. Never contribute to issues which have labels like: πŸ”’ staff only or 🚧 status: blocked
  3. Create only meaningful issues

Branch(s)

  1. Start branch name with a Group word, example: WIP - work in progress
  2. Avoid using number and other symbols like: 1, 9 or $, &
  3. Avoid long descriptive names

Some More GitHub Practices

  1. Use a Unique Repository for Each Project.
  2. Always Update Your Branches i.e. Sync your branches and Forks.
  3. Always Use an Authorized Email to Commit Code and with Sign-off.
  4. Create a Meaningful .gitignore File.
  5. Do not push to main or master branch directly.

I have successfully completed the Scaler-open-source-sep challenge organised by Scaler-discord-community. Throughout the learning curve , I ventured through the unknown parts of open-source which was unknown to me . The challenges never failed to learn something new. Special credits to the community for being supportive throughout the course of this challenge. Now, I feel that I open-source ready and ready for the upcoming and ongoing events. Thank you conducting such a successful contest . Always , eager for upcoming contests to venture into some new forest of knowledge.
