Also, I want to limit the individual clauses, not the total. For example, if it returns 1000 of 3 different tables, I'd like to make sure it limits it to 10 of each table (30 total in that case). I don't want it to just show 30 of one table, but 10 of each, maximum.

Hey @TrevorHinesley. Thank you for using Scenic.
It sounds like the problem you're having is actually one with your SQL query / possibly needing to do some Ruby-land limiting. The problem you're describing would still exist if you were using a database view without Scenic, which is the metric I'm using here.
Given that, I recommend you take the question to Stack Overflow, perhaps mentioning LIMIT with subqueries.
