Multi-selecting assets from the library actually did exist, in 2.0 if you held shift you could do that.

How this addon works
Three selection operations, the first of which is already implemented in vanilla Scratch:
single clickclears your previous selection and selects the item you just clicked on (like normal)CTRL + clickadds the item to your selectionSHIFT + clickadds all items between last selection and the new click to your selection
It should also be possible to press and hold on mobile (the image in the original post happens to demonstrate this). That's currently mapped to right-click, but it could be keep holding to right-click or something similar.
