Solution: OBS was not working properly with Genymotion. We ended up using ManyCam with the emulator.

Are you running OBS and are you seeing the output of dot in OBS?
Also is the vcam set up correctly in OBS?
If all of the above are set up and you still face the issue, sometimes you can't see the vcam of OBS in Genymotion. When this happens, I usually close Genymotion and try again till it works

Yes, the vcam is set up correctly in OBS. I can confirm this because I have a new submenu called "Virtual Cam" in the "Tools" menu.
