If all entity states are reporting correctly, then it is outside the scope of this project. Sorry but I'm not very familiar with device conditions so I cannot help you with that.

You need a “to:” in the trigger (and don’t need the condition)

Thanks for replying @Bart39. I'm not sure your approach applies here, though. This is in an action, specifically a "Choose" action with conditions focused only on current state. The approach you're calling out is for a trigger, where I'd have a previous and current state.
