No, I did manual compilation.
It did not work in the following 2 cases:
- Default setting: Python 3 environment of Deep Learning AMI
- After manual installation of CUDA 9.2 form nvidia site.
I did not try manual re-install of cuda9.0 from nvidia site.

This issue comes from CUDA installation in Amazon AMI.
I expected to have CUDA 9 installed by deb packages, but I guess AMI uses a *.run file to install CUDA 9.
Since the sqaod pacages have been compiled on Ubuntu 16.04, the workaround should be compile sqaod on Amazon Linux. I guess you're already trying to do it.
