Defining status checks in the repository about community HOT 5 CLOSED

to make it easier we can remove the status checks from the automation and give the power to the maintainers to choose and update via the UI.

To be honest I thought that was a good idea but it is not anymore :)

If the tsc members agree I can work to remove that from the automation

I don't think you can configure status checks as a maintainer though since it's branch protection, you'd need to be an admin.

I'm fine with leaving it up to maintainers which checks should be required.

ok, I will work to remove the status check from the automation and leave to the maintainers to select in the UI which ones they want

we reverted due some issues and to not give admin permissions to all the maintainers, for now we will keep using the automation to set the status check and other branch protection settings
