I too am having this problem and wondering if it is an oversight on my part with configuring my app. It works perfectly before compiling it. After being compiled I get errors saying my node module is missing.
EDIT: After some sleuthing around I found this thread:
It seems that DeskShell does not automatically package your node modules with the application when you compile your exe.
The workaround that I used was to use the env vars in that thread and copied and pasted my node_modules folder along with the app.exe to each computer that I was deploying to.
It would be great if the local modules were packaged together with the application somehow, but the above method worked for me.
