The silverstripe blog module (https://github.com/silverstripe/silverstripe-blog) has an example of multiple widgets within one widget area.
If you do not find a solution within the blog module, could you please supply some code samples so we can reproduce the issue you are having?

Had the same problem as Friksel.
After messing quite a bit i discovered that you HAVE TO declare a custom controller (extending Widget_Controller) for any widgets you are creating. Please add this lacking information into documentation.

I have the same problem but only use differents widgets in the same page...
If add two widgets with same classname, no problem. But if try to put two widget from diferents classname only first will be present....
