well as a sender there should be multiple names. What exactly is shown in your case?

The list of contacts and/or phone numbers for the group message is correct. Individual texts in the conversation are attributed to the wrong contact icon. For example, in a conversation with "Bob", "Jill", and "Andy", a text sent by Bob will show up with an icon "A", attributing it to Andy. And a text from Andy may have a picture of Jill from my contacts associated with it. Let me know if I can be more clear!

does it happen at the initial conversation opening too, or just breaks at scrolling the screen?

It happens when the conversation is initially opened. Even if there is only 1 message in it when I open it, it is sometimes attributed to the wrong participant. This only happens in group messages.

I'm hitting this bug as well. Names are mixed up when displaying the messages (Contact A shows as Contact B messages and vice versa). There are 3 people in the conversation (2 people and myself). It happens whenever I open the conversation. Scrolling doesn't change the behavior.

Also, I received a message from one of the person in that conversation, and it didn't not show right away, I had to go back to the main list and go back to the conversation to see the message. The notification had the right sender but the conversation showed the wrong contact.

@tibbi is there any update on this issue? I got same issue when I send message from iPhone to android as group message. The participants just mixup sometime. In iPhone participants is okay.

I'm having this problem as well on version 5.11.2. I just downloaded this app, and it's an old MMS group previously managed by a different app.
Maybe Simple SMS Messenger is being overly expectant on the storage format of the group chat?

I also have this issue in 5.16.1 from F-Droid. MMS messages imported from a different app show the wrong icon for each participant, and clicking on any icon only shows the name of the first person listed in the conversation.

So if I click on an MMS conversation with Alice, Bob, and Charlie, the icons for A, B, and C next to each text bubble will be wrong (that person didn't send that message). And then even if I click on an icon for B or C, the contact shown will be Alice.

New messages received after importing MMS are still incorrect.
