Handle AppleInfo service being down about golden_delicious HOT 4 CLOSED

Actually, looks like this apple web service has possibly been deprecated and is gone for good.

Yep, the service was taken down a few days after I wrote the gem. I haven't really touched it and didn't realize anyone else was using it. Are you planning on using it? If so, what information do you want? I'd be happy to update it and have it just pull from Everymac.

Nothing too complex information wise, Useful data out would be something like;

• Device Name
• Manufacture Year
• Icon?

Haven't tried with any iOS devices serials yet if everymac.com works. Would be nice too.

For what it's worth am building a UI our company to keep track of all our devices. Now with about 30 devices it's hard to differentiate, what devices are old etc.
