CommunityExtensions\STL would make a "CommunityExtensions" main group with "STL" as a sub-group. I think I'd prefer that. (In fact I wish all settings from SketchUp plugins where wrapped in a root "Plugins" section... but that's another topic - off-topic.)

I agree. Use a top-level CommunityExtensions key and use subkeys for each extension.
