Filling a model with a date attribute fails about plastic HOT 2 CLOSED

If I cast this to a string before storage it seems to work

        'scheduled_start_time' => (string) $this->scheduled_start_time,

The stranger thing is that the mapper is not respecting my type?

I do it this way

public function getElasticUpdatedAt ()
{
   if ( isset( $this->updated_at ) ) {
	return Carbon::createFromFormat ('Y-m-d H:i:s' , $this->updated_at)->format ('Y-m-d H:i:s');
	}
}

And when I create the mapping

'updated_at' => $this->getElasticUpdatedAt()
