or just include the sha hash of the file. There is no benefit of serving the file over https vs providing the sha hash.

Hi,
+1 @slimm609 , I added a note about checksums in the wiki.
@jonaslejon you can use https in your Vagrantfile if you want, the server is also listening on 443.
