Hey @infinitydon 👋, thanks for opening the issue!
Our current opinion is that the capturing and processing of TCP data should be left to tools that are designed for that use case (e.g., Wireshark, as you mentioned). Autocert is purpose built for making certificates available to pods. Anything else, we consider to be out of scope at this time.
That said, we're open to having our minds changed by folks from the community. I'll leave the issue open as wontfix and if we see more support we can revisit.
