The problem is when you make this one constraint an inequality the layout is now ambiguous. Meaning there are multiple widths for the bodyLabel that satisfy all constraints, and it's up to the internal implementation of the auto layout engine to pick one layout to use. Since you're changing the leading (left) inset to >=, that means the bodyLabel can be much less wide than the cell, which would cause its height to be very tall to fit the same amount of text. I believe that is why the height you're getting back is very tall.

Inequality constraints can be useful, but in this case, you'd need to do more than just change 1 constraint to >= in order to avoid an ambiguous layout.
