I just tried it from the instructions and it worked for me (though the Jar was the wrong name - I'll work on it). Did you use the build.gradle that's pointed at from the instructions page? It's different than the root build.gradle.

Sorry, yeah, I guess I was a little confused by the fact that the build instructions actually don't relate to the source code at all. I don't know much about gradle, is there a way to add the fat jar build to the gradle files in the source project as well ?

I'll see if I can. I'm using Gradle because Netflix has settled on it. I'd prefer to use Maven but that's not currently an option.

From Justin Ryan: I could recommend the onejar plugin, which creates a new target which will create a one-jar (similar to a fat-jar, but with some classloader fixes). It'll leave the original jar target alone and give @tomdz his fat-jar.

I've decided to stick with the current method of building WARs, etc. It's been working and doesn't complicate the main build script.
