Does the element have layout? If yes, do you have an example?

I had some time to investigate this, and came to the following conclusion: As reported, opacity does not affect Cufónized text. But if you make the element positioned, opacity works like it should. So, as an easy fix you can make the element relatively positioned. Out of our hands, closing the ticket.

Actually it doesn't seem to work in IE8. Oh joy. I've added a note to the Styling wiki page.
