Any other issue with the LCSC API? I don't use it much so any other suggestion is appreciated 👍

It's been working great so far.
Although I haven't quite worked out the KiCad side of things. Getting the error about not Symbol library files not found.
However I suddenly realise that it may be because I'm using the pre-v6 KiCad (v5.99) and there has been a library format change from v5.1 from what I recall..

Yes KiCad V6 symbol libraries will be using the same format as PCB footprint which is completely different than V5.
KiCad's team is working on library/CI tools too and I will most certainly support V6 when it is stable, currently the nightly builds are still very buggy.
