I wonder do we really need the directories names in path-proxy
?
You know all spas has been deployed by sync-service. if path-proxy and sync-service using same way to create/read folder names. I think we won't need do that
The only thing left is how to detect 404. I think it should be have some way to implement it

That's a great idea @kunyan. 404s would give us all the info we need to remove directory names from path-proxy.
The only reason I can think of to keep dir names in path-proxy is peformance. Waiting for a round-trip response of 404 would add some latency.
