So, that's actually WAI in terms of what I originally designed. Everything at the Snippet level is just a String, so the method body never knows that your throw statement is in a block. Without actually implementing a mini parser/formatter, I think that this is far beyond the intended complexity. Plus, your strings end up looking more like source when you don't flatten them. If it were me I think I would have written something like:

String nullCheckFormat = Joiner.on('\n').join(
    "if (%1$s == null) {",
    "  throw new NullPointerException(\"Null %1$s\");",
    "}");

methodBody.addSnippet(nullCheckFormat, identifier)

OK, so in the example each line in the snippet will be indented by the correct amount? I guess that makes sense, and will work well in small methods of the sort that you should probably be aiming for in generated code anyway.
