libprofiler.so.0.0.0 (only 3 0's) is part of the non-devel RPM. You need to
install
the non-devel RPM in addition to the devel RPM. In theory, the devel RPM
depends on
the non-devel RPM, so this should be enforced by the package manager (rpm). But
maybe that part isn't done quite right? I don't know very much about .rpm
files.
If indeed the dependencies aren't specified right between the devel and
non-devel
packages, feel free to re-open the bug (and, ideally, propose a patch to fix
it. :-)
) Otherwise I'm closing this as not-a-bug.

I was able to install the devel rpm without needing to install the non-devel
rpm (in
fact, I didn't notice it existed until you pointed it out, thanks!). Looking
at the
spec file in the tarball, I don't see any 'requires' directives that specify
dependencies, probably you need to add one of those, but I'm not an rpm master
either
(see http://www.rpm.org/max-rpm/s1-rpm-depend-manual-dependencies.html).
Probably
you need something like:
requires: google-perftools >= 0.96
under the '%package devel' section of the spec file.
[Sorry about the 4 0's, though I did get it right in the body of the report.]

OK, thanks for the pointer. I'll look into adding the necessary "requires" for
the
next release.

OK, I've figured out something that I think should work. It will be in the
next release.
