Hi Dez,
I think that surface / multiscale coupling should be possible. Unfortunatelly, currently I am out of time to create such example..
There could be some adaptivity in Oofem, but I have no experience with it..

Hi, Jan~
When I used surface coupling of DEM and FEM, I found that the interface stress was related to the mesh grid size of the FEM. The contact stress would be much smaller than the real one if the grid size was not small enough, but the computation time cost a lot when the grid size was small. So is there any adaptive grid technology of oofem or some other methods to reduce the effect of the grid size?
best regards,
Dez

Hi Jan,
I'd appreciate your work and inspired by your doctoral dissertation and encouragement. I will try the combination of these two methods and share the examples with you after success. Thank you again~:)
Best regards,
