Well, there will always be a way to pass through security layers. You can, as you mentioned, copy-paste every single cell value or even take a screenshot. I guess the point here is to make it harder.
Anyways, just an idea...
Thanks!

Hey! The data that is being downloaded is exactly the same data you'd get by selecting all cells and copy-pasting them into a file. So disabling that button wouldn't really improve security in any way, that's why we decided not to add an option for disabling it.

Hey! I understand.
What if this new st.dataframe/st.data_editor parameter disabled the "Download as CSV" button AND copy-pasting the values from the cells?
from streamlit.
Yeah sure, we could do that. But then again... your user can also just write the value of every single cell somewhere else or take a screenshot and use OCR to get the full table. Sure, preventing the download button and copy-pasting makes things a bit slower for users to copy, but they can still do it. So what's really the purpose of this? If you have sensitive data that you don't want your users to get, you should probably not fully show it to them in the first place.

Hello, I also hope there is a feature that allows for disabling certain functions due to the main business operations and legal considerations of the company.
- There will be a confidentiality agreement with the user, which includes prohibitions on sharing, downloading, etc.
- If the system provides a download function, it means that the data was obtained through legal means.
- Obtaining data through screenshots, OCR, or taking pictures is considered an illegal method.
