Running Streamsync from Cloned Source
Follow these steps to set up and run Streamsync from a cloned source:
Step 1: Create a Virtual Environment
Ensure that you have a virtual environment installed within your cloned directory. You can create a virtual environment with the following commands:
python -m venv .winvenv
# OR
python -m venv .venv
Step 2: Install All Dependency
pip install -e .
Step 3: Set Up the User Interface (UI)
Navigate to the UI folder and install the required Node.js dependencies and build the UI:
npm install && npm run build
Step 4: Running the App
go root folder and run
streamsync edit hello --port 5000
Note: If you encounter an error like “A path to a folder containing a Streamsync app is required,” you may need to specify the path. In that case, navigate to the source folder and run:
cd src/streamsync/
streamsync edit app_templates/default --port 5000
from streamsync.
Running Streamsync from source can be slightly challenging.
First I'd change src/streamsync.py
to something like 0.2.6wgong
to check I'm actually executing the version from source.
Then you'd need to make sure that, with Node and NPM installed, you've compiled the required assets by running npm run build
.
from streamsync.
Thank you @ramedina86 , will try it out
