Since geo-nearby is a CommonJS module, it wasn't designed to using in browsers and React Native.
But you can try to use it in React Native and maybe you are lucky :)

At the moment I cannot make any changes in geo-nearby to help you.
There is another library which is do almost the same thing as geo-nearby but is written in pure JS:
mourner/geokdbush
