Google's terms of service would preclude their use, even if supported by the mapping API (which it isn't for that very reason). I find OSM fine for the areas where I fly; if you want imagery maps, you can google for the libchamplain quadkeys patch that enables Bing maps, and rebuild libchamplain. The use of additional map sources is described in the manual.
I won't "fix" this.
