I'm working on this.
Trying to come up with a set of instructions that don't require VMware internal access

Should we consider doing this as a separate lab? I feel like quick and dirty Metal LB is easiest, and cannot expect all users of the lab to have Avi access - is it that easy to get this going?

I'm debating myself about that. You made a fair point but it also looks like AVI will become more of a constant in TKG vSphere environments so we might want to place it as the default option eventually.
For now and until things unravel, I'm making AVI an option and not removing MetalLB. But including a reference to it in the Contour Labs. I feel a separate lab would be hard to do after the entire baseline installation is done
