Great, so will dashboard, trigger to be an independent Operator as Pipeline or treaded as add-on?

@vincent-pli probably an add-on. Operator allows defining a CR to configure what should be installed. That could be tekton controllers and any number of addons (e.g dashboard) or experimental features.

To what extend will the Tekton operator be able to share code/idioms/infra with the Knative operator? Preferably very much, so we can all draft off of each other and not duplicate effort.

@imjasonh the downstream ones were sharing a lot of code from @jcrossley3, so yeah the goal would be to share a lot with the Knative operator(s) 👼

Correct, we want to share as much as possible with knative. Most of the implementation is shared through a common library create by @jcrossley3 which you can find at https://github.com/jcrossley3/manifestival
