Hi Tim,

Thanks for the quick turnaround! I gave it a try last night and now it does show up as separate windows in task bar. However, it doesn't behave the way I expected. Ideally, these flowing windows should display the same icon as the main windows (or have the option to set different icon), and have their independent windows states (can be minimized / maximized independent of the main windows). Right now they all show or hide at the same time.

Please take a look whenever you get a chance!

Thanks again!

George

I have fixed the icon issue, but the window states thing is done somewhere in AvalonDock. I found this SO issue: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/20443124/avalondock-floating-layoutanchorable-hides-when-minimizing-window-or-switching-t. If there's a way to override that behaviour, then I haven't found it yet.

Hi Tim,

Thanks a lot for your efforts! The SO issue is exactly what we are facing
here. I think it's a very tricky one. I looked at it for some time before
contacting you. At least you made some improvements.

In my previous job, we were using Infragistics WPF controls and the docking
manager does allow independent state of the floating windows. I tried to
use free open source tools as much as possible in my new job. I am busy
with other non-GUI issues right now, and will check this out later. I'll
let you know if I find anything new.

Thanks again!
