  • Theserver_address should be changed to router.kr.thethings.network
  • The chan_multiSF_7 is currently not used. Maybe add 921.9?
  • The chan_Lora_std should be disabled in the same way as chan_FSK.
  • The RF Power table should probably be checked:

The following table is a summary of KR 920.9-923.3MHz ISM Band channel frequencies and Maximum EIRP output power for Korea.

The KR-global_conf.json file needs to be modified based on the numbers on this table.

1. KR 920.9-923.3MHz ISM Band channel frequencies and Maximum EIRP output power

Center Frequency	Bandwidth	Maximum EIRP output power (dbm)
(MHz) (kHz) For end-device	For gateway
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(01) 920.9 125 10 dbm (10mW)	23 dbm (200mW)
(02) 921.1 125 10 23
(03) 921.3 125 10 23
(04) 921.5 125 10 23
(05) 921.7 125 10 23

(06) 921.9 125 10 23
(07) 922.1 125 14 dbm (25mW)	23 dbm (200mW) <-- default channel / DR0 to DR5
(08) 922.3 125 14 23 <-- default channel / DR0 to DR5
(09) 922.5 125 14 23 <-- default channel / DR0 to DR5
(10) 922.7 125 14 23

(11) 922.9 125 14 23
(12) 923.1 125 14 23
(13) 923.3 125 14 23

   NOTE: default channels :
                       (1) must be implemented in all end-devices.
   		       (2) The minimum set of channels that
all network gateways should always be listening on
to guarantee a minimal common channel set between end-devices and network gateways.

Note the following:

The current LoRaWAN specification for the KR920-923 ISM band exclusively uses LBT channel access rule to maximize MACPayload size length and comply with the South Korea regulations.

This requires an lbt_cfg section in the config, and and gateway that support it. V1.0 gateways, SX1301 only without sx1272 and fpga, do not.

Does it mean MultiTech currently does not have a LoRa Gateway product (MTAC LORA or any other) that supports LBT (Listen-Before-Talk)?

And, it seems like MultiTech's mDot module doesn't have an AT command that enables the LBT mode even though sx1272 is used on the mDot module. Does it mean MultiTech currently doesn't have an end-device module that supports LBT, either?

@hoonppark: The KR channel plan has been merged into the Backend and is now supported on our servers. Feel free to submit a pull request to this repository with the configuration file!

@htdvisser, according to @tftelkamp's comment on Dec. 26, 2016, the MultiTech gateway HW can not currently support LBT. So, I think we can not make a KR-global_conf.json file for the current MultiTech gateway HW.

johanstokking avatar johanstokking commented on June 12, 2024

@hoonppark still it's good to have the configuration file for gateways which do support it, e.g. the second generation Kerlink IoT base stations

@johanstokking, I think @tftelkamp or someone from MultiTech would be the right person to make a configuration file for MultTech gateways because he/she needs to know the MultiTech HW to come up with a configuration file supporting LBT.

@hoonppark any news on this? In the meantime, a KR plan got merged
