Really sorry about this! Looks like there was a regression in the build script in which it was not properly specifying to use the Snow Leopard SDK. Can you try again? (I have re-deployed the build for 2.2.1, here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/git-osx-installer/files/)

just downloaded the latest installer from sourceforge and it works without troubles on OSX 10.8.5.

Trying to recover from a period in which proper issue reporting channels were not established, so the only people leaving issues were the people having problems.

Also, could you please check to see if git gui works and report status here? Try to determine if I need to publish a 10.8 build as well, since git gui doesn't work in Yosemite for builds targeting Snow Leopard
