Binary at git-scm.com not compatible with 10.6 about git_osx_installer HOT 4 CLOSED

I've tested the installer on a snow leopard install without dev tools
installed. it works perfectly fine, so far as I can tell, cloning over
https included.

Could you give further details? Which version of curl is on your machine?
Can you identify the offending dependent file? What stack trace do you get?
Screen shots? Etc.

Unfortunately the issue isn't on my machine, but rather a user reporting a bug in homebrew - see the issue I linked above. I incorrectly thought it was due to the installer, but that might not be the case.

No, sorry -- the installer isn't the issue. (In fact, it's probably going to be the solution.)

I hadn't realised that installing xcode also installed git. Running 'which git' suggests it was this version of git, which gets installed to /usr/bin/git, that was causing the issues I encountered.
