The easiest solution would be to use two input-fields with a picker for each. You can disable the second input until a selection is made in the first one and upon selection populate the picker for the second one.

This is true. I wish life was that simple :). My UI is On the generic side and i would need to hide the extra field and show it based on value from another field value (yet created by another picker).
Pondering.... Thanks for the feedback!
