As far as I remember there has been no official response from the Toggl team on this, however it looks like the shipped version of the extension will use the URLs for the "official" cloud versions of the products. Otherwise the browser extension would require access to all sites which is undesirable.

For your local installation you would have to clone the repo, manually change the patterns and Load unpacked extension from the source code dir.

That's what I thought, but it seems like a showstopper for mainstream usage. Would be nice to have some concept like Greasemonkey over at Firefox which allows to configure the domain per script in the browser/addon settings.

YouTrack (InCloud) in already supported.

Well, this issue is not necessarily about the YouTrack support as such, it's about the fact that the Toggl-Button only works on certain URL patterns that are hard-coded in the plugins and can't be configured. And that's a problem e.g. for YouTrack but certainly for other platforms as well, because they allow to run the system on any domain. How would you recommend to get this working then?

Thanks for the feedback! Currently it's not supported, one can only create a private fork for custom domains (I know it's less than ideal, but it works). I agree that the extension should let the user to configure a script per domain, but that requires "access to all sites" permission. We are probably going to convert the extension from "page action" to "browser action" and along the way let users to configure per domain content scripts.
