Lock user-select only when you drag about react-split-pane HOT 4 OPEN

Why we need to set user-select: text by default ?
I want to manage it manually.

This one caught my eye in the list of issues, because I think I experienced the issue that is referred to on this thread...

Each of my panes contains elements/widgets that may be drag-and-dropped. When an item that is being dragged crosses over another item, both items enter the "selected" state, getting highlighted in blue (in Chrome). Not great for user experience.

It's important to note that this was not happening before I added react-split-pane to my project. The drag-and-drop was already working fine without anything getting selected. I then added react-split-pane to separate my app into two separate drag-and-drop areas, and the selection problem appeared.

I fixed it by adding the following CSS to the container element of my draggable items:

.draggable-item-container {
        -webkit-touch-callout: none;
        -webkit-user-select: none;
        -khtml-user-select: none;
        -moz-user-select: none;
        -ms-user-select: none;
        user-select: none;
}

...but it would be nice if this wasn't necessary when using react-split-pane.
