The latter is easily solved by changing the extension in the url after save, I agree with the former though.

Right now we use the syntax highlighting as somewhat of a lock on the content, so we would need to add another indicator that something was saved. Any ideas about what that would look like?

Perhaps something in the gutter indicating modified/new lines? Like this. Fade it out or to green when it's saved. (And/or just put something boring under the buttons on the right with a status).

Heya - looking back on this after long delay (sorry), and I think we should keep it how it is to stay simple, and avoid suggesting that hastebin could/should be used as an editor for anything
