My stance is basically
- I think this is kinda helpful.

inoremap <CR> <C-G>u<CR>
is awesome. - I can't really get away with remapping
<CR>
in this plugin. - I don't really want to provide the kinda-helpful part without the awesome part.

Hm. I see it differently.
- Mapping CR makes editing easier. (It doesn't prevent much lost data because CR is additive.)
- Mapping C-u makes screwing up harder. (It prevents data loss because C-u is subtractive: you either lose the data from cursor to beginning of line or lose what you wrote before C-u.)

CTRL-U in insert mode deletes a lot. Use CTRL-G u to first break undo, so that you can undo CTRL-U without undoing what you typed before it.
