I came up with this workaround. It briefly disables startofline on BufLeave, then re-enables it immediately thereafter, to avoid messing with CTRL-B, CTRL-F, G, H, M, L, gg, etc. The CursorMoved autocmd is disposed after the first CursorMoved event; it is re-attached on the next BufLeave.
