I see on the web site it says
Today Rich disitributes the original sources under the Apache 2.0 license.
But not in this sources. (Link is pointing to another source tree) Well, it's kinda confusing.
ps. BTW, typo in disitributes

This version of editline is derived from the original release in the old news (NNTP) channel. It therefore retains its original license. C News was a program at the time that inspired many other open source (wasn't even invented back then) and shareware software projects.
When Rich pushed his version to GitHub he chose the Apache license, which is fine because to that source base he (and his colleague) share the copyright, so they can do that. This version, however, has evolved on its own and has many more contributors. We cannot change the license legally unless we as all those who have contributed significant portions along the way.
So, to summarize, the license of this version of editline is not Apache v1.0/v1.1/v2.0. The license is in the file LICENSE, available in the distribution and here on GitHub. It is from the C News project.
I hope this clears things up.
