I guess we could switch to marked and ditch remarked, rehype, and unified entirely
I know that unified is the same that has been used in martian etc. but to keep it we would have to use the HTML output from marked and then convert that with unified , but that would require using rehype so it wouldn't completely solve the issue

With marked we could use the lexer that it uses under the hood (docs) to parse the tree, and then convert that tree into Slack blocks in a similar way as we are now

yeah with marked we can also specify a custom renderer. the thing there is I think all of the custom renderer functions return strings so we’d have to figure out how to have it work with returning objects

Yeah I think that the issue with unified is that you have to install the different processors (like remarked and rehype), while marked should be able to do everything by itself
