Yeah, I can see how some of our docs may not emphasize that TwiML generation is the key skill you need to grasp. I'll pass that along to my team, along with the Libera.chat suggestion. Thank you!

I'm sorry the process has been so frustrating for you. The good news is that the Browser Dialer tutorials are the next tutorials I will be updating, including the Django one.
Our quickstarts and tutorials are meant as a jumping off point to highlight Twilio's key functionality (whether the helper libraries or the SDKs) in our 6 supported languages. It's unfortunately beyond our scope to guarantee support on non-Twilio-related functionality.

Thanks. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it just took a few extra days to get used to. I was just frustrated at the time of writing this issue when I first started using the Twilio API since I couldn't find a lot of django stuff since the docs used flask. The Stripe API is harder than the Twilio API believe it or not.
The key thing that I struggled with in the beginning was that everything really depends on the TwiML. If you get the TwiML generation right, the rest should be easy. Maybe in the docs if you say that about the TwiML it'll be easier for people. I was confused about the whole difference between TwiML and XML thing and what the point of TwiML was. I thought TwiML was something like writing XML the easy way as a file on your server and that is all you had to do instead of writing actual server code. But then I realized you generate TwiML through the server code and that is what makes the calling work.
Cool I didn't know there was a forum. You devs should also hangout in Libera.chat IRC also like the Stripe ones do.
