Frozen after "ETHON: Libcurl initialized" from Typheous about ethon HOT 4 CLOSED

Nope. 7.31 does not fix the issue. Neither does restarting my machine (a long shot, but I'm desperate). I've upgraded everything that I could think up, starting from Typhoeus 0.5.3.

Figured it out! I was accidentally using an old haproxy config file. So, my request to a different server was actually being routed back to my rails server. This seems to hang Ethon. I suspect the issue might be becase Rails is single threaded, so it can't respond to the Ethon request because it's busy waiting on the Ethon request to finish. But what doesn't make sense is why a timeout didn't occur...

@jackquack thanks for your effort! The default timeout is set to 0 which means it'll never time out: http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/curl_easy_setopt.html#CURLOPTTIMEOUT.

@hrdwdmrbl That was exactly what was happening in my case as well. All that freeze was just because it was waiting to connect to an external service and it waited out until the thing finally timed out.
