Using DSpace tests (dspace-api) on Windows using IntelliJ required:

  • specify -Ddspace.configuration=
  • copy dspace-api/target to target/
    -copy dspace/config/modules/ to target/test-classes/config/modules/
  • add b2safe jar explicitly into dspace-api (File->Project Structure->dspace-api->Dependencies->jar)
  • (similar with xoai)

Current setup writes to database it has probably something to do with using local.properties

                                    </filters>

and with our db cofing inside there we are modifying "live" DB

There are quite a few issues with running the dspace tests. We found out that the dspace test creates a completely different test environment with in memory database using H2 database engine. Which means that we should create a similar setup for our utilities database as well.

Also, we need to update the testEnvironment.properties properly according to our test environment and we should not use local.properties. In our testing today the local.properties overrides the test environment and it modifies the actual database, which is totally undesired operation.
