The conditional independence testing utilities have been moved to the package conditional_independence
(https://github.com/uhlerlab/conditional_independence). The plan is to also export these utilities in causaldag
for convenience, but I haven't had a chance to work on that yet - will keep the README here posted with updates!

Got it. But is there any other way to run sparsest_permutation by using what is currently available in the causaldag package?

You'll have to install the conditional_independence
package and change the imports accordingly.
