Hmm, thought again... Maybe we could additionally allow passing a function in options.rng that returns 16 random bytes? This would give maximum flexibility and people can implement their own RNGs if they really want to. But maybe it would be kind of overengineering...

Actually, it works that way already. the uuid.**RNG "constants" are just references to the corresponding rng function. So any function that returns 16 bytes will work.
