Continued from issue 24:

@Garito TBH, I'm not even sure if the bootstrap devs would incorporate it. It's more complex many times over than any of their plugins. A couple of the major differences between their style and datepicker's is multiple files (locales, backends, etc) and locales (for their current plugins, they don't have to worry about translations, as there is no text in the plugins themselves). And then there's the sheer size of the plugin, which I bet would blow their biggest current one out of the water...

But, to answer your questions, I haven't made a decision about where datepicker should be before we propose merging with bootstrap. And there haven't been any "official" talks about it with the bootstrap devs, either, so I'm not aware of their stance on it.

Yeah, doing things because then they include this library in another library seems stupid

So... have you a roadmap about your needs in the context of the datepicker?

Are you not interested on keep going with this?

I disagree with include a full library like momentjs just to show a datepicker.

Perhaps most people don't need manipulate date in differents formarts or play with date operations.

I like bootstrap-datepicker because of your simplicity.

@Garito My particular needs were met long ago. At this point I'm just interested in making it better :)

@CauanCabral As discussed in #24, support for momentjs will be provided as a plugin system -- bootstrap-datepicker will not require any particular external library to work. I'd also like to implement datejs support at some point, but nobody has come forward with an interest in it yet, so it's a back-burner item. Check out the extensible branch to see where the plugin system currently stands.

It's one of the nicest (looking) data pickers out there. The dependency on dropdowns.less would be the first thing I would fix. In my project I had to hunt down this elusive (to me) dropdowns.less, find a css version, and fish out the few css classes and images it relies on. Honestly, this took way more time than it should. Most people probably wouldn't go through the trouble.

It should be an isolated component with the only dependency on jQuery. I should be able to easily bundle it with any application. Oh, and a test project would be very helpful for newcomers. (just my 2c)

@eternicode Is there any plan for supporting Time? We desperately need it. :(
